Introduction to Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021

Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 (Version 21H2, OS Build 19044.x) was officially released on November 16, 2021, positioned in the "Long-Term Servicing Channel" (LTSC). It is based on the Windows 10 21H2 codebase but only receives security and quality updates throughout its lifecycle, with no forced feature upgrades. This results in superior system stability and lower resource consumption.

Friendly Reminder: LTSC is targeted at specific industry licensing channels. Personal users should be mindful of legal authorization if they wish to try it. Additionally, as the ecosystem gradually transitions to Windows 11, the long-term compatibility of third-party software with LTSC is worth noting.

As a result, service availability was impacted, requiring manual intervention. This issue primarily affects Azure confidential VMs.

If you have installed earlier updates, only the new updates contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device.

Noto Fonts

Symptom

There have been reports of blurry or unclear CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) text when displayed in Chromium-based browsers (e.g., Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome) at 96 DPI (100% scaling). In collaboration with Google, the March 2025 preview update introduced Noto fonts as a fallback for CJK languages to improve text rendering when websites or apps do not specify a suitable font. The cause of this issue is the limited pixel density at 96 DPI, which can affect the clarity and alignment of CJK characters. Increasing the display scaling can improve clarity by enhancing text rendering.

Workaround

As a temporary workaround, increase the display scaling to 125% or 150% to improve text clarity. For more details, see Change screen resolution and layout in Windows.
