Introduction to Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021
Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 (Version 21H2, OS Build 19044.x) was officially released on November 16, 2021, positioned in the "Long-Term Servicing Channel" (LTSC). It is based on the Windows 10 21H2 codebase but only receives security and quality updates throughout its lifecycle, with no forced feature upgrades. This results in superior system stability and lower resource consumption.
- Support Lifecycle: Mainstream support until 2027-01-12. The IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 edition receives extended support until 2032-01-13; the standard Enterprise LTSC does not include extended support.
- Streamlined Components: The Microsoft Store, pre-installed UWP apps, and most cloud integration features have been removed. Only the Edge browser and core management tools are retained, avoiding ad pushes and reducing background services.
- Typical Scenarios: Suitable for environments that require long-term stable operation without being affected by frequent UI changes, such as industrial control, medical imaging, financial terminals, and vending machines. It also attracts professional/geek users seeking a lightweight system.
- Feature Parity: Core functionality is equivalent to Windows 10 21H2, supporting the latest security features, Group Policy, and enterprise management (e.g., MDM, BitLocker, WDAC). It can coexist with current Windows 11 networks.
Friendly Reminder: LTSC is targeted at specific industry licensing channels. Personal users should be mindful of legal authorization if they wish to try it. Additionally, as the ecosystem gradually transitions to Windows 11, the long-term compatibility of third-party software with LTSC is worth noting.
Update Summary
OS Builds 19044.5859 and 19045.5859
This update includes security and quality improvements that were part of the update KB5058379 released on May 13, 2025, and KB5061768 released on May 19, 2025. Below is a summary of the fixed issues and quality improvements included in this out-of-band update. New features, if any, are also listed. Bold text in parentheses indicates the item or area of the change we have documented.
- [Hyper-V Platform] Fixed: An issue in the direct send path for Guest Physical Addresses (GPA). This issue caused confidential virtual machines running on Hyper-V Windows Server 2022 to intermittently stop responding or restart unexpectedly. As a result, service availability was impacted, requiring manual intervention. This issue primarily affects Azure confidential VMs.
If you have installed earlier updates, only the new updates contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device.

Windows 10 Servicing Stack Update (KB5058526) - 19044.5853 and 19045.5853
Microsoft now combines the latest servicing stack update (SSU) for your operating system with the latest cumulative update (LCU). SSUs improve the reliability of the update process to mitigate potential issues while installing updates.
This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. For more information about SSUs, see Servicing stack updates and Servicing Stack Updates (SSU): Frequently Asked Questions.

Noto Fonts
Symptom
There have been reports of blurry or unclear CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) text when displayed in Chromium-based browsers (e.g., Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome) at 96 DPI (100% scaling). In collaboration with Google, the March 2025 preview update introduced Noto fonts as a fallback for CJK languages to improve text rendering when websites or apps do not specify a suitable font. The cause of this issue is the limited pixel density at 96 DPI, which can affect the clarity and alignment of CJK characters. Increasing the display scaling can improve clarity by enhancing text rendering.
Workaround
As a temporary workaround, increase the display scaling to 125% or 150% to improve text clarity. For more details, see Change screen resolution and layout in Windows.
